To His Excellency the Governor of Kentucky

Your Petitioner would respectfully state, that a Judgment for Fifty Dollars and Costs was rendered against him in the Lexington City Court on the 329^th day of May last for carrying a concealed and deadly weapon, and respectfully solicits a remission of said fine.

I was the atty for the City of Lexington, at the time the foregoing fine was imposed. The Jury, under the Law from the Court, was compelled to return a verdict of "guilty." During the present troubles, it is ^of^ a class of cases, that presents grounds for Executive clemency, in my opinion.
