Dear Sir

Your petioner ^F. M. Bush^ is well known to the undersigned having been raised in the same neighbourhood to geather he is connected to a numerous and respectable family, and has an [amiable] lady for his wife, and several Babes, He is a young man of ardent temperament and dose nothing by halves he has been a Suthern rights man and in his ardor an inthusiasm Joined the Suthern army, and after a brief but sad expirance has had his mind disabused from the radical and dangerous error in to which he had been lid and I have good authority to [believe] that he is hartyly repintant, and has been induced by Gen Roscrans Proclimation, and other causes to return home, and voluntary surrender him self up to the authorities Military, and Civil, and throw himself upon the Clemency of his Cuntry and especially the Clemency of your Honor, pledging himself to be Loyal and true in the futer
