Dear Sir I sent to the Gov. to day a petition for him to remit of fine vs. Steward Myers and Thomas Beuford for an assault upon Solloman Sailers. who abused Buford^s Sister, which caused him to resent it Sailer was not hurt — yet the cause of the asault was not allowed to be proven consequently the verdict The Jury have signed the petition. The defenants desire you to see the Gov. and do what you can to have it remited They are both good quite and Lawal citizens. They will thank you for the favor
