His Eccenely The Govenor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky Your petitioner J M. Duvall makes known to your honor that he was at the fall term of the Franklin Circuit Court in the year 1860 he thinks, find the Sum of ten dollars for unthoughedly yousing Some unbecoming Language with no intention of trespassing upon the feelings of the Court and thought untill very resently the Same had been remited by Governor Magoffin then in office but supposing it was in Some way omitted Therefore your petitioner prays your honor to remit the Same

We whos names are under Signed make known to your Exccellency that we are and have been well acquainted with your petitioner Ja^s M. Duvall for many years and know him to be a respectable quiet and peasable citizen and at no time would offer to trespass upon the feelings of any court or people and that he is a pore man and has a helpless family dependeing on him for Support and could not pay the same without Serious injury to his family hoping there fore your Charity may be extended to the inosent, and remit the fine is the prayer of your petitioners.

Your petitioner states that he was notified by E. A. W. Roberts an attorney that Judge Nuttall had re ordered said fine to be expunged, and believes it was so intended but not executed -- That now, nearly three years afterwards execution is issued against him for the the fine --

In consideration of these facts he respectfully asks for a remission of the fine.
