Govenor James. F. Robertson

The undersigned Citizens of Simpson County Ky would respectfully represent that at the [ ] Term 1861 of the Simpson Equity & Criminal Court, Catharine Hogan was indicted for the offence of "Keeping a Tipling House," and House of ill Fame." and her Mother Eleanor Dick became her Bail in the sum of Three Hundred & fifty Dollars and subsequently on account of the failure of Def^t to appear, a forfeiture of said Bonds, was Taken, and the Mother of said Def^t is now liable to pay the whole sum, Executions have been issued against the old Lady and are now Levied on a small tract of Land. her little Home and the only property She has, She is a very aged woman, decrepit, & partially Blind, and when this Little pittance is swept from her, She will be left at the mercy of the world; we hope you will interpose the Authority vested in you and remit such portion of the fine as may go to the Commonwealth. We feel sure that she is a fit object of Executive Clemency.
