To his excellency James F Robinson Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Your petitioner George Keeser states that at the last April Term of the Boyd Circuit Court he was fined the sum of $60 -- on the charge of Keeping a tipling House in Boyd County -- Your petitioner was not informed that there would be a court for the trial of causes at said Term, he in consequence did not attend. he says he is satisfied he had a valid defense if he had presented the same, he knows that he is not Guilty. he say the judgement was rendered by default on his part -- he is poor -- he ask your excellency to remit the penalty or fine assessed --

Riley clerk of the Boyd Circuit Court do certify that in the prosecution above describe a that Judgement was rendered against George Keeser without his making defense to the same & was not presant -- this May 2^nd 1863 & that George Keeser is worthy of credit as to statements made by him
