Princeton Caldwell County Ky June the 10^th 1863.

To his Exelency the Gov. of Ky. enclosed I send you a stamp. if you have any doubt as to my position or connector, as a citizen, a public or privet man. if you know any man in my County pleas write to him. for information I was born and Raised in this County and never Resided elsewhare. and I am geting old. and infurm. have a dependant familey and verry limited means. and if compeled, to pay the fine which has been assessed against me it will fall heavly upon me. you will se the letter. of Judg Turner. who has been the County Judge of this County for the last 8 years. and a strong Union man. and what R B Ratliff. sais who is the presant sheriff, and a strong union man. you will see the petition in my behalf. I was advised that it was not nesasary to send many names, if you think a stronger petition nesasary. let me know and I have know doubt I can get four fifth of the men in my County. by Referance you will see I have been a magistrate for the last. 12 years.
