Dear Sir enclosed I send you herewith the petitiwion of Sundry Citizens of Grant County asking the remission of a fine imposed upon Benjamin M^cGlasson at the May term of the Grant Circuit Court. Mr M^cGlasson is a poor man has a large family- and if required to pay the whole amount of the fine it will very nearly if not entirely break him up — he has heretofore been a peaceable quiet man-and I think his case such an one as to Justify the interpositions of your excellencys clemency
