Dear Sir,

Your Letter of the 8^th inst relative to the renewal of my Commission as Kentucky Commissioner of Deeds &c in this City or my re-appointment, as such is just received, and in answer thereto_ I ask most respectfully to be re-appointed and that my new Commission may be now transmitted to me, to date from & commence running on the day after the date of my present Commission — which will as you state expire on May 19/63.

Agreeably with your request Sir I herewith inclose & transmit to you, the required lawful fee of Five dollars in this case made & provided: — Be kind enough Sir to send my Commission, acknowledge your due recepit of above named Fee as soon as practicable. So that I may take & send out my new oath of Office, and have all "OTC" before my old Commission expires —
