In consequence of the death of W^m Brown jr, the office of Superintendant of Green & Barren river is vacant. His father W^m Brown Senr. is a very competent, honest faithful man and truly loyal to his Government. He seems reluctant to have his name presented. But we, who know him well, would be glad to see him appointed or at least compelled, as to the appointment for he knows who is qualfied to ^discharge^ the duties office, and who has been [...] reliably loyal. Any number of names could easily be had, but with you, unknown numbers dont count.
