Edmund Rowe a citizen of the County & State aforesaid states on oath that he has good reason to believe and does believe that in the County & State aforesaid on the 22^nd day of July 1863 one Thomas Rice did feloniously & wilfully & with force rob one W^m P Render of a horse ^belonging to affiant^ and took said horse away from the possession of said Render ^& from affiants possession^ and converted him to his own use. The said Rice is now in the State of Indiana in Spencer County & the town of Rockfort and confined to Jail — upon some charge against him in that County He has procured a warrant for his arrest which is now in the hands of the Sheriff of Ohio County Ky — and he feels confident that
an Indictment will be found against said Rice for the robbery aforesaid at the next Term of the Ohio Circuit ^Court^ Wherefore he prays the Governor of this State to demand said Thomas Rice from the Governor of Indiana and that such steps be taken as will cause the return of said fugative to this County
