Private Joseph Kerby, 11th Regt Mounted Infty, Kentucky Volunteers, is discharged the service, to date from the first (1^st) day of August 1863, to enable him to accept a Commission then tendered him by the Governor of Kentucky and since when he has been acting in the capacity of a Commissioned Officer.
