I have seen a letter from Maj Jas H Pinday of New York to you upon the subject of the Marine Brigade now on Garrison duty at Vicksburg Miss, thirty four of whom represent themselves as Kentuckians, and have seen their petition on the subject of their greivances —

I think their case calls for relief and I hope you will respond to the letter of Maj Pinday, and give the weight of your name for their relief
