Your communication of the 30^th ult addressed to his Excellency Governor Bramlette, has been referred to this office for reply. We would do all in our power to get you transferred to the 52^d Ky Infty, if such transfer were not inconsistent with the rules of the War Department. It is impossible for a person to get transferred from a 3 year regiment or battery to a regiment of a shorter term of service, as the 52^d Ky is, only being elisted for one year. The attending circumstances connected with your application are plausible and would meet success were it not for the above named reasons. —
