By order of His Excellency- Gov. Bramlette, this subject is respectfully refered to Brig. Gen. Burbridge The attempt to recruit was under authority from this office granted, under orders from the War Dept. which were solicited by the twelve months troops and not by the State. The contempt shown to the authority of both the State and General Governments, in these repeated hinderances by officers of twelve months regiments- induces Gov. Bramlette, to lay the whole matter before the U.S. Authorities — as the regiments are not under State control and to ask that, if guily, these officers be punished.
