By authority from the Governor of Ky I am authorised to order into the State armory the piece of Ordenance [wh]ich was [...] to you as the Inspector General Buckner concludes Artillery and Infantry in the same company is incompatable by the law

I am requested to say to you by the Quarter Master General West that so soon as we received from the amory at St Louis Musket which we will get from there in a few days he will exchange a fine musket for your Halls Rifles Inclosed by mail you will find a new manuel for the use of arms
