Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Louisville, Kentucky, attorney and soldier. Owen County, Kentucky, native. Son of Harrison Mundy and Elvira Foster Mundy. Married to Margaret Offutt Mundy. Father of St. Mare Mundy. Attended Transylvania University in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky. Studied law under Professor Hoffman and T. T. Wharton. Attorney in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Colonel of the Garibaldi Legion of Philadelphia. Resigned his commission. Served in the 23rd Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a colonel from January 1862 to October 1, 1862. Detached as commander of the post of Louisville in the District of Western Kentucky of the Department of the Ohio from October 1862 to December 1863. Resigned on December 31, 1863. Attorney in Louisville.
