Married to Winifred Ware Webb Williams in Bourbon County on March 25, 1824. Father of Ben F. Williams, Nancy Williams, Nancy Williams, Winifred Williams, George Ann Williams, Louisa K. Williams, Fanny Conn Williams, and Charles Anna Williams. Graduated from Transylvania University in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky. Studied law under Judge Benjamin Mills and admitted to the bar in Bourbon County. Member of the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Kentucky from 1829 to 1830, 1836, and 1850. Member of the Senate of the Commonwealth of Kentucky from 1846 to 1850. Member of the Whig Party. Bourbon County representative to the Kentucky Constitutional Convention of 1849. Founder and president of the Deposit Bank of Paris in 1851. Attorney in Bourbon County in 1850. Owned four enslaved persons in Bourbon County in 1850. Rejected the nomination of the Prohibitionists Party for governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 1855. Member of the American ("Know Nothing") Party. Attorney in Bourbon County in 1860. Law partner of John A. Prall in Bourbon County. Owned twenty enslaved persons in Bourbon County in 1860. Member of the Republican Party. President of the first Republican Party State Convention in 1864.
