Moore, S. G. Moore, Minnie H. Moore, and Druzilla Moore. Attended Marshall Academy in Virginia. Graduate of Marietta College in Washington County, Ohio. Studied law at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. Admitted to the bar in 1849. Member of the Whig Party and Democratic Party. Attorney in Lawrence County in 1850. Member of the United States House of Representative from the Ninth Congressional District of Kentucky from 1859 to 1861. Member of the Opposition Party. Attorney in Lawrence County in 1860. Served in the 14th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry (U.S.A.) as a colonel from November 1861 to January 1862.
