Logan County, Kentucky, attorney and politician. Kentucky native. Married to Susan C. Moss Ewing. Married to Nannie L. Williams Ewing. Father of Henry Clay Ewing and Johnie Anna Ewing. Educated at Princeton College in Kentucky. Admitted to the bar and practiced law in Russellville, Kentucky. Owned five enslaved persons in Logan County in 1850. Member of the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Kentucky from 1842 to 1844 and 1859 to 1861. Member of the Provisional Congress of the Confederate States from 1861 to 1862. Represented the Fourth Congressional District in the House of Representatives of the First and Second Confederate Congress from 1862 to 1865.
