Louisville, Kentucky, railroad superintendent. Hartford, Connecticut, native. Married to Eliza Page Rowland. Father of Cliff W. Rowland and John B. A. Rowland. Worked as conductor and master of transportation on the Mobile & Ohio Railroad and the Tennessee & Alabama Railroad. Appointed assistant superintendent of Military Railroads, Department of the Cumberland. Served as general superintendent of the army freight line in Louisville and assistant superintendent of the Louisville & Nashville Railroad.
