Mercer County, Kentucky, attorney, judge, and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Andrew G. Kyle and Jane H. Glover Kyle. Educated at Transylvania University and withdrew due to health issues. Studied law in Mercer County in 1860. Graduated from the Law School of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1862. Began law practice in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. Judge of the Harrodsburg Police Court in 1864. Served in the Mercer County Militia as a colonel during the Civil War.
