Graduated from the University of Louisville Law School in Louisville in 1848. Attorney in Green County in 1850. Household owned thirty-two enslaved persons in Green County in 1850. Served as the Commonwealth's Attorney for the 5th Kentucky Judicial District from 1858 to 1861. Attorney in Marion County in 1860. Member of the Democratic Party.
