Attorney and partner in the law firm of Earle & Waddill, with Otway Waddill, in Madisonville in 1852. Attorney in Madisonville in 1853 to 1859. County attorney for Hopkins County from 1855 to 1859. Attorney in Madisonville in 1860. Owned four enslaved persons in Hopkins County in 1860. Founder of Southeast Kentucky Petroleum, Coal, Mining, and Transportation Company, with H. M.
