Boone County, Kentucky, attorney. Richmond Station, Kentucky, native. Son of James McManama and Mary Pollie McManama. Married to Mariam Tulley McManama in 1855. Father of Mary Ella McManama, Stella McManama, Victor McManama, and Nora McManama. Attended Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana. Graduated from the University of Louisville law school in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1853. Prosecuting attorney from 1854 to 1862. Attorney in Williamstown in 1860. Arrested in Grant County for Confederate sympathies on July 14, 1862. Imprisoned at Camp Chase, Ohio, until he signed a loyalty oath to the United States Government and was released on November 5, 1862. Attorney in Grant County in 1863.
