County prosecutor for the Todd County Court from 1840 to 1846. Member of the Christian Church. Clerk of the Todd County Court from 1846 to 1870. Clerk of the Todd Circuit Court from 1846 to 1869. Recruited soldiers in Todd County during the Civil War. Delegate to to the National Democratic Convention in Chicago, Illinois, in 1864. Owned two enslaved persons in 1850 and eight in 1860.
