Dry goods clerk in 1850. Partner and, later, full owner of Capt. Bull’s Corner dry goods business. Owned three enslaved persons in Mercer County in 1850. Cashier of Harrodsburg Savings Institution in 1860 and 1863. Served in the Mercer County Home Guard as captain in June 1861. Provost marshal in Mercer County.
