Louisville, Kentucky, railroad superintendent and soldier. Kentucky native. Graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, in 1844. Veteran of the Mexican-American War. Assistant engineer of Louisville and Frankfort Railroad from 1847 to 1850. Assistant engineer of Lexington and Frankfort Railroad from 1847 to 1850. Superintendent of the Lexington and Frankfort Railroad from 1850 to 1872. Superintendent of the Louisville and Frankfort Railroad from 1855 to 1872. Commissioner of the Military Board of Kentucky from May 24, 1861, to March 15, 1862.
