Louisville, Kentucky, clerk, attorney, and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Samuel Casseday and Eliza McFarland. Married to Nannie Craik on April 29, 1859. Clerk in Louisville in 1850. Attorney in Louisville in 1860. Served as Lieutenant Colonel in the Ninth Kentucky Infantry (C.S.A.) in October 3, 1861. Prisoner of war at Camp Chase in Ohio. Died as prisoner of war on March 21, 1862 in Columbus, Ohio.
