Father of Virgil Jessee, John Jessee, William Jessee, George M. Jessee, Jr., and Elizabeth P. Jessee. Member of the Resolutions Committee of the Democracy and Old Line Whigs of Henry County in 1856. Member of the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Kentucky from 1857 to 1858. Farmer in Henry County in 1860. Owned seventeen enslaved persons in Henry County in 1860. Served in Jessee’s Battalion, Mounted Rifles (C.S.A.) as captain from July 22, 1862. Served in the 6th Battalion Confederate Cavalry (C.S.A.) as lieutenant colonel from May 21, 1864.
