Shelby County, Kentucky, soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Robert and Martha Terrell. Resident of Shelby County in 1850. Served in the 1st Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (C.S.A.) as private from 1861 to 1863. Served in the 37th Kentucky Volunteer Mounted Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as private from 1863 to 1864. Captain of a counter-guerrilla unit (U.S.A.) in Shelby County and Spencer County in 1865.
