Father of William Hare, Sydney Hare, Gracie Hare, and Frank Hare. Tinner in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, in 1850. Tinner in Louisville, Jefferson County, in 1860. Served in the Provost Guard of Louisville (U.S.A.) as a first lieutenant from October 8, 1861 to August 10, 1862. Promoted and transferred on August 10, 1862. Served in the 34th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a captain from August 10, 1862 to February 7, 1864. Transferred with company on February 7, 1864. Served in the 6th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry (U.S.A.) as a captain from February 7, 1864 to January 17, 1865. Resigned January 17, 1865.
