Served in the 121st United States Colored Infantry Regiment as second lieutenant from September 7, 1864 to June 30, 1865. Served in the 13th United States Colored Heavy Artillery Regiment as second lieutenant from July 1, 1865 to November 18, 1865. Served in the 125th United States Colored Infantry Regiment as second lieutenant and first lieutenant from December 23, 1865 to December 20, 1867.
