Johnson County, Kentucky, laborer and prisoner. Kentucky native. Son of Johnathan Ward and Malinda Meek Ward. Resident of Floyd County in 1840. Resident in Johnson County in 1850. Charged with manslaughter for killing Nathan Castle in Johnson County in January 1857. Laborer imprisoned in the Kentucky State Penitentiary in Frankfort, Kentucky, from January 28, 1858. Reported escaped from prison on March 28, 1863, and returned March 30, 1863. Pardon issued February 22, 1864, by Thomas E. Bramlette.
