Bath County, Kentucky, farmhand and soldier. Virginia native. Married to Angeline Tincher. Father of Ambrose Tincher and Elizabeth Tincher. Served in the 3rd Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment as a private during the U.S.-Mexico War. Farmhand in Bath County in 1860. Served in Captain Bussey’s Bath County Rangers as a corporal from December 11, 1863, to April 1, 1864. Served in the First Regiment Capital Guards, Frankfort Battalion, as a corporal from February 1, 1864, until reported as deserted in Frankfort, Kentucky, on July 15, 1864.
