Cuyahoga County, Ohio, physician and soldier. Unionville, Ohio, native. Son of Noyes B. Prentice and Athalia Prentice. Married to Sarah Prentice. Father of Frank Prentice and Thalia Prentice. Physician in Canfield, Ohio, in 1850. Physician in partnership with his brother, Noyes Billings Prentice, in Cuyahoga County in 1860. Served in the 49th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as major and surgeon from July 21, 1863, to May 28, 1864. Died of disease in military service at Stanford, Kentucky, on May 28, 1864.
