Farmer in Bath County in 1860. Served in the 10th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a private from September 8, 1862, to September 17, 1863. Prisoner of war, captured at Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, on March 22, 1863. Paroled at Camp Dennison, Ohio, on May 11, 1863.
