Commissioned to the 39th Kentucky Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as first lieutenant on September 6, 1862. Captured in Floyd County on December 4, 1862. Confined at Richmond, Virginia, from May 4, 1863, to May 5, 1863. Served in the 39th Kentucky Infantry as first lieutenant to September 15, 1865.
