Student in Jefferson County in 1850. Served in the 22nd Kentucky Infantry (U.S.A.) as first sergeant, second lieutenant, and captain from January 10, 1862, to January 29, 1863. Served in the 7th Kentucky Infantry (U.S.A.) as captain from January 29, 1863, to September 18, 1865.
