Leavenworth County, Kansas, druggist and soldier. Ohio native. Married to Mary E. Ellis Johnson in Christian County, Kentucky, on July 24, 1850. Father of Martha Johnson, Ansella Johnson, and Morris Johnson. Methodist Episcopal Church minister in Christian County in 1850. Druggist in Leavenworth County, Kansas, in 1860. Served in the 8th Kentucky Cavalry (U.S.A.) as captain from September 6, 1862, to September 23, 1863. Served in the 52nd Kentucky Volunteer Mounted Infantry (U.S.A.) as major and lieutenant colonel from March 3, 1863, to January 18, 1865. Served in the 17th Kentucky Cavalry (U.S.A.) as colonel from April 25, 1865, to September 20, 1865.
