Hamilton County, Ohio, bookbinder and soldier. New York native. Son of Henry Boyd and Elizabeth Boyd. Bookbinder in Hamilton County in 1860. Served in the 15th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as second lieutenant and first lieutenant from December 14, 1861, to June 4, 1863.
