Farmer in Montgomery County in 1860. Convicted of manslaughter against Andrew [Unknown] in Montgomery County in 1860. Sentenced to two years imprisonment at hard labor in the Kentucky State Penitentiary by the Montgomery Circuit Court. Served in the 1st Kentucky Light Artillery Regiment (U.S.A.) as private from October 6, 1863, to July 10, 1865. Reported as deserted at Lexington, Kentucky, on June 13, 1864. Returned to service on June 2, 1865.
