Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, businessman, soldier, and commissioner. Son of William C. Morgan and Jane C. Morgan. Married to Caroline D. Morgan. Father of Caroline A. Morgan and Theodore H. Morgan. Student in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, in 1850. Served in the 98th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as captain from December 28,1861, to February 5, 1862. Partner in Morgan, Hanson, & Co. in Philadelphia in 1862 and 1863. Appointed commissioner for the Commonwealth of Kentucky on November 4, 1862. Claim agent in Philadelphia in 1863.
