Caldwell County, Kentucky, resident and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of James McCaslin and Mary McCaslin. Resident in Caldwell County, Kentucky, in 1850. Served in the 3rd Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (C.S.A.) as a corporal and first sergeant from July 10, 1861. Reported as deserted in December 1863.
