Caldwell County, Kentucky, farmer and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Jacob Ausenbaugh and Mary Ausenbaugh. Married to Sarah Ann French Ausenbaugh. Father of Sarah Elizabeth Ausenbaugh. Farmer in Caldwell County in 1850. Farmer in Princeton in 1860. Served in the 10th Kentucky Cavalry Regiment (C.S.A.) as a private from November 21, 1862, to March 25, 1865. Captured at Cheshire, Ohio, on July 20, 1863. Imprisoned at Camp Douglass in Chicago, Illinois, from July 20, 1863, to March 25, 1865. Signed a loyalty oath the the United States on March 25, 1865.
