Caldwell County, Kentucky, farmer and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Matthews McNeily and Maria L. McNeily. Married to Mary Ann McNeily. Father of Paulina McNeily, Louisa McNeily, and M. E. McNeily. Student in Caldwell County, Kentucky, in 1850. Farmer in Princeton in 1860. Served in the 48th Kentucky Volunteer Mounted Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as corporal from October 26, 1863, to December 15, 1864.
