Father of Elizabeth Crossland, Samuel H. Crossland, Kate Crossland, and Jeff D. Crossland. Sheriff in Hickman County, Kentucky, in 1850. Member of the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Kentucky from Hickman County from 1857 to 1859. Attorney in Clinton in 1860. Served in the 1st Kentucky Infantry (C.S.A.) as captain, major, and lieutenant colonel from April 23, 1861, to May 25, 1862. Served in the 7th Kentucky Mounted Infantry (C.S.A.) as colonel from May 25, 1865, to May 1865. Attorney in Mayfield in 1865.
