Hamilton County, Ohio, law student, notary public, and soldier. Ohio native. Son of Daniel Wilson Brown and Esther Jane Brown. Student in Ashland County, Ohio, in 1850. Schoolteacher in Hamilton County in 1860. Law student and notary public in Hamilton County in 1861. Served in the 34th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as first lieutenant from August 16, 1861, to October 7, 1862. Died in Gallipolis, Ohio, from wounds received at the Battle of Fayetteville, West Virginia, on October 7, 1862.
