Henderson County, Kentucky, councilman, mayor, merchant, and soldier. Kentucky native. Filed a marriage bond to Elizabeth R. Allen Hall in Mercer County, Kentucky, on July 27, 1852. Father of O. F. Hall and J. N. Hall. Master of the Jerusalem Masonic Lodge in Henderson County, Kentucky, in 1855, 1859, 1863, and 1864. Councilman in Henderson County from 1857 to 1859. Served in the Kentucky State Guard as first lieutenant and captain from November 7, 1859, to 1863. Tobacco merchant in Henderson County in 1860. Mayor of Henderson from 1860 to 1862. Owned eight enslaved persons in Henderson County in 1860. Fled to Toronto, Canada, in 1863. Signed a loyalty oath to the U. S. government on August 8, 1865. Pardoned by President Andrew Johnson on December 19, 1865.
