Hopkins County, Kentucky, farm laborer and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of William Martin and Belinda Martin. Resident of Hopkins County in 1850. Farm laborer and student in Hopkins County in 1860. Served in the 17th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a private from January 3, 1865, to September 20, 1865.
